Well-being is an alarming issue increasingly gaining the spotlight in both countries. There is a growing movement to ensure “work-life balance” amongst young people who are about to enter the workforce. The phenomenon of "Quiet Quitting" is another manifestation of society's failure to address emerging concerns about wellbeing. Student mental health issues are also becoming more serious in both countries.

Recent research has finally uncovered that as countries grow and develop, the number of “Deaths of Despair” increases. With many researches showing that loneliness amongst young people is on the rise, wellbeing is central to the discussion but has been neglected thus far.

Well-being is still poorly understood. Studies and research on mental health are still in their infancy, and many in society are still quick to dismiss genuine mental health concerns as being weak-willed. This year 2024’s Conference, “Well-being”, aims to gather professionals from various fields to thoroughly understand well-being from multiple perspectives.
